Voxalike Multiplayer Guide: Co-op, PVP, and Room Setup
Voxalike multiplayer uses private room codes and a host-selected Dub Pack. Co-op builds one shared performance; PVP compares performances. Most failed rooms come from mismatched pack files, unready microphones, or starting before every browser finishes syncing.
Choose the room format first
Co-op combines different players' lines into one finished dub and currently supports up to 12 players. PVP compares players inside the competitive flow and currently supports up to 8.
Within Co-op, Round Robin assigns turns in sequence. Claim Mode leaves lines open so the group can decide who performs each one. Use Round Robin for predictable turns and Claim Mode when specific voices suit specific roles.
- Co-op + Round Robin: easiest organized party format.
- Co-op + Claim Mode: best when friends pick characters together.
- PVP: best for smaller groups who want comparable scores.
Create, join, and sync the room pack
The host creates a room, chooses the mode and installed Dub Pack, then shares the room code. Guests join and wait while Voxalike checks or installs the matching Workshop revision.
If Ready Up is unavailable, do not repeatedly leave and rejoin. Check whether the room mod is still installing, open Mods and refresh if needed, then return to the room using the same browser profile.
Record without blocking the room
Only record when the turn or claimed line is assigned to you. Replay quickly, retry when necessary, and save the take so the next assignment can open.
When a player disconnects, keep the page open and let Voxalike reconnect. The host should use recovery tools only after confirming the player is no longer recording or uploading.
- Release a claimed line if you cannot perform it.
- Use Host Tools to recover a stuck claim or redo the previous line when available.
- Skip an unplayable line only after checking the affected player.
Protect the finished multiplayer dub
Wait for the final result and export preparation to finish. Recent Dubs can restore a small number of recent multiplayer results for a limited time in the same browser, but it is a recovery feature rather than permanent storage.
Every participant who wants a copy should download it before the room is abandoned or the temporary result expires.
